Just want to know why the World Series Baseball, is a world series when there are only US teams that participate.

It's that superiority complex. They ARE the world.
. You'll get what I mean if you ever come here.

Baseball is mostly played in US i guess. And all US teams participate as in each of their state has a team, thats why its called like that.

That's like the Miss Universe Pageant. I have yet to see one extraterrestrial contestant.
Really disappointed.

I have been there half a dozen times & visited over 20 states, but never to a ball game. Will put it on my agenda for the next trip. Then I might get it.
I understand that maybe should be the "all americain series". It is also big in Japan, played here in Oz aswell with a number of players, playing in the US.iPhone 4 | iMac 24" | MacBook Pro 15" | ATV | iPod Classic | Time Capsule | iPad 16 Gb |

Baseball is the most boring sport. I drive a race car and love to watch F1, ALMS, Grand-Am, and World Rally.
I can't wait until the world series is over and done with. I live in the Philly suburbs and am sick to death of hearing Phillies this, Phillies, that everywhere. Can't go into a store with out the obligatory "Go Phillies" greeting. UGH!!!!!!!
Back to your rhetorical question. I wondered why it was called a "world" series as well. Guess its for the 2 Canadian teams. Frankly some of the best spectator "ball" sports I have seen was soccer in Europe, Rugby, and Australian rules football.

Wow. That's not totally off topic or anything. There's a thread stickied at the top of the Ipod Touch jailbreak upgrade downgrade restore forum about being stuck at boot logo.

yes I realize it's football in Europe by I was translating into "American"

Here's one my son asked me today: why do we call a nation's chief executive a "head of state"? And a state's (US State) chief executive a "governor"?
