What it sounds like is that what has been suggested is coming up with an FAQ for specific forums instead of or in addition to stickies. While many of the stickies threads are very long, there is often good trouble shooting info buried in those threads. While it might be tempting to go straight to the how to, I found that by going through the threads and reading about everyone elses problems first, helped me to reduce the number of my own issues. In addition, if i did encounter a problem, I would remember reading something about it and could look it up again easily if I didnt remember the solution.
We do have a guides and wiki section on the site here wich has a great deal of info. My feeling is that no matter how easily accessible we make the info, there will still be large numbers of folks who will still post a question without looking. Guess most folks dont live in my house where one will get their head bitten off asking what the score is or whats happening on a show upon walking into a room only to be scolded, shut up and watch a few minutes and you'll find out.
Too many people misconstrue the concept of "no question is a dumb question".
If I've helped you, you can help me by clicking on that Thanks button.

Hey, would this be a good help team sig? I made it thin, so it wouldn't take up too much space if you want your old sig too. Ask me if you want the psd. (to add your own specialties)
