I liked the touch screen laptop... that was pretty cool. The tablet PC could be weird to type on a virtual KB. It looks awesome... like Minority Report!

the laptop is actually available now (without windows 7 of course), i saw it today at work, its gonna support it, but heres the thing, the laptop supports single touch but when window 7 comes out its gonna be multi touch,, by the way, when u type in orange bold, do you do it all the time by pressing bold and picking a color or do you do it automatically, if auto, please teach me

Windows 7? I hadn't heard of it until I saw this thread. So I googled it. It sounds like its going to be nice. Hopefully I can afford a Mac sometime soon so that I can have both.

Gotta pick the color and bold manually. After 2,000+ posts it's just habit.. I don't even have to think about it, lol. If everyone had their own color this place would get spiced up a little bit! haha
Oh did I mention my Longhorns are #1 in the Nation this week?!

What's the point of a touch screen laptop. I can see the utility at like a shop or something (maybe finding where you are on a large screen in the mall)... but at home? Seems like they are just trying to bank on the iPhone frenzy.

^ Not necessarily. When technology becomes obsolete at the current time, progress must be made with an exciting development, whether it's ratio of necessary use is high, something must be created to keep everyone's curiosity at bay.

well, like in the video, they arent trying to replace the mouse, if not use touch screen with the mouse
example giving was:
if you have multiple documents and want to move them, instead of using your mouse back and fourth you use the touch screen. but i know what your thinking, why not just select multiple documents holding ctrl? its the same thing. well yes but its cooler and lazy for u to just use your fingers...would you have prefer your iphone with another type of pointing device?

What I am MORE thinking is that there are tablet PCs thats basically have this same function. Don't get me wrong, this is neat, but what I was more trying to bring to light was that this touchscreen frenzy is what got this whole thing going.
And if I could add a mouse to my iPhone without making it bulky as hell, would. The utility of a touch screen (to me) is in compact desgin, not in buying a specialized screen to move stuff around on the desktop.
Bottom line: Cool? Yes! Changing the industry? Probably not.
EDIT: I decided if I could run my car or a boat or something with this it would be cool and worth getting. End of discussion!
