^When my mom past....same thing, she had spent sooo much time in the hospital that she finally said she just wanted to be home, and thats where she past. I was sitting with her.

^Thats to be expected. You just have to remember they will be in a better place and the pain will be gone. Thats what helped me along. Although nothing makes it better.

In these situations you feel the window closing. While the window is open, even if a little, you can still reach through. Once the window closes the blinds go down and it's locked out forever. These times don't feel so good, but they are a blessing if you are lucky enough to be there while the window is still open.
Many leave their homes one day and say bye and never get a chance to do it again. To be able to be there to see someone off is the greatest blessing of all because some live in torture without the closure.
It may not feel like it, but you are blessed and lucky to have such an opportunity that many never have. Say everything you want to say.
