I personally haven't tried any from Amazon. In the past I bought the cheapo ones. I have never had one fray, crack or break on me, I guess I'm gentle and careful when removing it from my device. I buy a bunch as I don't want to be without one so have them everywhere, bedroom, den, living room, kitchen, pool area, office, my cars and motorcycles. blah blah blah.

I think it has to do with how careful you are while traveling with it. Mine has lasted over 10 months but it's starting to not work in certain positions. No fraying.

I think the cheapie ones are better than the ones Apple makes nowadays though. I have an Apple iPod cable from before the iPhone and it's lasted forever.

This statement is true in more ways than I'd care to admit.

Case in point: my launch i4, with 759 charge cycles, has lost exactly eight mAh of capacity. My year-old i5, with 227 cycles, has lost 216 mAh of capacity... fifteen percent.

Either my measuring tools are off, or there's been a serious QA slip in the past, say, four years.

Is that really caused by the cable? Also, I heard someone say the 5s has a different type of lithium-ion battery that doesn't lose capacity as easily as the 5. Is this true? I've noticed that the percentage doesn't jump up and down like on older devices.

Anyone ever have this constant boot loop where the only way to stop it is to have the charger and headphones plugged in? Now I can't even connect to wifi. The switch is inactive

This thread is getting far too on topic.

That was very cool. Such an iconic vehicle. Hard to believe that this car built in the early 1930's was able to reach speeds in excess of 140 MPH. It has even ran here in the US at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.
    Thanks confy, enjoyed it.

  9. #68268
At Boneville it averaged over 150 MPH for 24hours - including stops to refuel and change drivers. It's top speed is in excess of 170 MPH and the sound she makes has to be heard.
I was told that if ever I get a chance to drive her I should refuse because she's a bugger to drive...

It's not directly caused by the cable. I was offering an anecdote as support and commiseration with your grand point, "Apple's build quality has fallen off recently to the point where third-party solutions are demonstrably better."

We are far too on-topic. Let's fix that.

Hell yeah, 12 cylinders (3 banks of 4) has to be an outrageous sound. Love that car. 580 HP at 2585 RPM is just sick.
Has to be a handful to drive.

That's one of my favorites. It's a .45 desert eagle! I have to admit, they can make a nice hand cannon in Israel!

    .45?! PFFFFT. Peashooter.

Mark XIX .50 AE or GTFO with that weaksauce. Overpenetrate with maybe forty degrees of arc of recoil per shot!

    SEKUND MENDMUNT! MURRIKA! MURRRRRIKA!

  20. #68276
I had a peashooter when I was a boy. But I grew out of such violent weapons. Why would anyone want a weapon?

Mark XIX .50 AE, that will make your wrists sore... and make a big azz hole.

  22. #68278
It comes in a .50 too, but I like the .45 better.

Ever had a day you were looking forward to a lot, that turned out to be better than you expected?
Today was one of those days.
