Baking soda works best.

Yes baking soda is a good one also

Baking soda & water will neutralize the build up. Hot water will rinse it off. Try some grease or Vaseline around the connection terminals.

The baking soda will get rid of all the corrosion, (clean real good when done). The Vaseline nor the baking soda will not harm anything.
We use dielectric grease at my shop, but Vaseline will work fine, it's not a conductor.
Dielectric grease will prevent any corrosion in the future.

I always thought people that had white iPhones were strange, they should be black. Now all these colours? Strange.
A few years ago we had a drought in the UK and there were water shortages and a hosepipe ban - then it rained and there were floods. One village had a hosepipe ban while they were flooded and a tiger escaped from the local zoo.
Fires=bad, floods=bad - but at least you don't have an escaped tiger.
Things can always be worse.
But they can often be better.
And usually do get better. He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.
