They had to evacuate the whole plant and push the product into the flair stacks. Talk about a roman candle.

I'm sure we'll be back. The reason for a whole plant evac is because, the city of Whiting only has 1 fire department and they were at the point of upset. If there was a second emergency (let's say I fell and was hanging in my harness) there would be no one available to rescue me.
Now with that being said, they need to have the first emergency fix/repaired/shut of before they will issue work permits tomorrow.

I'd guess you are spot on with that number.
I won't know how bad the workers that got burned are till morning... What they may have been burned from. I would guess fire, but it could have been steam or chemicals.

As you might notice, I'm proud to be a union carpenter & building a refinery that will fuel our cars, boats, trucks & planes for the next 100 years, if not longer

I'm a union millwright work as a formen/fill in supervisor work at cf industries. Biggest fertilizer plant In the world. Been working there for about four years steady. And off and on for another 10 years at power plants. We rebuild and pm anything that rotates out there. Small pumps to big fin fans. Work around ammonia caustic and sulfuric acid.
