I don't know what one1 does for a living, because he always seems to be either on here, playing with his dogs, watching TV, or driving his bimmer.

If I buy a brand new LG Quantum from At&t would I be able to call and unlock it right away if it was never on a contract?

I just hope Apple will unlock iPhones purchased off-contract prior to Wednesday... that'd make my life pretty easy.

1) It's offered on one GSM carrier,
2) That GSM carrier will not unlock it under any circumstances, and
3) Apple does not sell an unlocked version themselves.
Hopefully the US will be taken off that list--about damn time, too. My guess is an AT&T/Apple exclusivity for SIM locking expires right about now, and Apple is taking advantage of it.
