Sorry cowboy. The first 2 I listed were probably wrong. Those were for my other laptop. Either one of these two will work for you. I have too many bookmarks I got confused. I've got all four of these connectors but I use mine mainly for a projector. I'm looking for a new hd projector and can't make up my mind. I'm gonna use it outside and in garage so it doesn't have to be top of the line just work for what I need.

Now before you go and try this let me explain alil first. You need single user mode, a mounted and formatted ext hdd, and to make sure you umount the /dev/disk0s1 before starting this because unflushed disk buffers will cause issues with your data. You need a mount point for the ext hdd (I use /mount/backups) probably going to have tocreate the directory you wanna mount to. As you can tell I prefer the cli over GUI.
I'm pretty sure you cannot umount the root FS while running OS X off of it... so the OS X install disc is probably the best to run a ddisk on when you're targeting the boot drive.

I also think the mount point in the HFS+ filesystem is /Volumes/... symlinked to the correct BSD mountpoint (/dev/disk1s1 or what have you), with the exception of the boot disk, which is at /.

PS: SuperDuper! makes things much easier.

Best part is the (legal!) Cuban cigars at the US Duty Free store at the Ambassador Bridge, which is a mile or so away and also a Detroit-Windsor access point... though I imagine the tunnel has one too.

Good point orby. I knew I was forgetting simething. Use the install disk like orby said. I usually use a live cd or recovery cd for my Linux comps.

You are right about the /volumes and / too. The differences in the os's always throws me off.

    So how's orb?

I got your back like a buttcrack mang!

If I had a nickel for each POSIX/*NIX distro that used different terminology for its "basic two-letter UNIX commands" or "filesystem nomenclature" I'd have twenty bucks, minimum.

Orb is good, just got back from his mother's birthday party (she turned 25) at his favorite Italian joint.

Yo Simon, you were right, the movie "Serenity" was really good, kind of filled in the black parts of the series that were left out. Really enjoyed it, thanks.

Oh, I know. I take the jibe and jest right back. S'all good broseph.

-looks at profile info for birthdate, sees its hidden-

I'm too lazy to go digging in the SQL for that table entry... I'd normally ask a Super Mod to go check in vB or do a Social Millionaire/Diffie-Hellman key exchange--so I'll just say if my lifespan were a UNIX t_time variable, it'd be 0x25C5D83C (as of 16MAY2011 03:35:00.000 GMT).
