I'm fond of Pentax cameras myself. Got a nice vintage Pentax SLR (ya know, with 40mm film and ****) that I love...

Develop my own film for it too--darkroom in the basement (though haven't used it in a while, probably need to swap out the stop bath...)

EDIT: I also can dig around for one cheap, Miss Toothy.

I think I am going to go with this: Canon - EOS 60D 18.0-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera - Black - EOS 60D Kit with 18-135mm Lens

Then I will pick up a super wide angle lens for $900 and I will be around the price I want to be at.

I can ask "someone" to "borrow" a refurb (for repairs) and sell it 15% off new price, but that probably won't go over so well.
