I know there are a few in the section Themes (System). You can find WinterBoard themes to learn from in /var/stash/Themes.UBAY3p.

    You background should be transparent not set to a color. What you technically doing is making a mask that will go over the icons. So you want the center to be transparent so that the icon shows through.
