Post My opinion on Nokia 5800 (Nokia's iPhone)

Seriously, every mobile phone company now is copying the iPhone in a hideous ripoff. Nokia even said so themselves, that it's aimed at Apple fans and it's going to be an iPhone killer.
Nokia aren't that good in making touch tablet PC-phones, and yet, they did so...

    Watch Nokia 5800 in action here : [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP3YNcSOMlg]YouTube - Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Demo[/ame]

Specs : Nokia 5800 XpressMusic - Full phone specifications

As you can see, the Nokia 5800 is no match for the iPhone, its OS isn't as slick, it's pretty bulky for an iPhone ripoff, it has a bad web browser (Nokia's browser always sucked, I have a Nokia E65 and I use Opera) and its memory isn't that big.

Here are some pros' and cons' over the iPhone according to speculation and specs (It's not released yet):

    Pros:
-Has a better camera (3.15 MP), iPhone has only 2.
-Has video recording OTB. iPhone doesn't
    -Has Bluetooth sending/receiving. iPhone doesn't.
-Has two cameras for 3G video call. iPhone has only one.
    -Has flash. iPhone doesn't.
-Has WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML, RSS feeds. iPhone only has HTML.
-It weights less than the iPhone 3G.
-Has card slots, can upgrade memory.

    Cons:
    -Doesn't have multi-touch.
-Symbian platform isn't as good as Mac OS X.
    -Battery drains faster (speculation)
-Price: It's going to be expensive as hell (speculation but true, Nokia phones are really expensive). They added almost every feature in every other phone.
-Slow, as you can see in the video, Symbian platform isn't really fast as the iPhone OS. They don't make their own hardware too.
-Memory isn't built in. Yes that can be a con since cards are slower and limited.
    -It has a stylus.
    -Bit bulky.

Bottom line, it's pretty good actually, but it will be no match for the Apple iPhone. But that's just my two cents.

    Discuss.

    Default Re- Nokia 5800 cons

Wow, is that all we have to complain about the nokia?
I am an iphone 3g user and a nokia 5800 user and i can certainly prove that the nokia's battery outlasts the iphone by at leat 75% with all apps on and connected.
We have got lost in this world of what looks good and what is/is not eye candy... The big issue and reality is a communications device and it's functionality. As much as i really do like the iphone's UI it is infact a 3 legged dog crippled and unable to do the essential basics.

Or lets put it this way, sure no mobile manufacturer has yet to compete with the iphone's slick UI but at the same time with regards to functionality and communications, the iphone was killed even before it was released, period.

The nokia 5800 is loaded with every possible extra that you could need, and thats what frustrates me about the iphone.
The iphone and iphone 3g has sold in its millions since its short life since launch, but i can guarantee that now all the millions of people that rushed to the shops to purchase one will certainly have second thoughts about the next generation iphone unless Apple sorts itself out and stops crippling what people expect and want from a high end expensive communications device!
