Is there a decent software that can filter all of my songs and actually re-tag them properly?

Media Monkey my friend. I use it to organize all of my music. It works great with tags, you can have it set so your music is in one directory, or sub directory (ie Artist / Album / Song.* that kind of thing). MM uses Amazon to search for album artwork (ctrl + L). The autoplaylists work great, and best of all, it is free. There are also torrents of the payware version ($20). My music is extremely organized. 99% has proper album artwork, lyrics, and correct artist info. My library used to be trashed, it was just all l!mew!re crap that was thrown into one directory. I had doubles and triples of the same songs. But now, I keep it well pruned, and am working on building up my library yet again (currently @ 1.6GB)

I'm sure I'm not the only person here with 175gb on an external disk either. You're gonna have to double up and catch up.

Mines a total mess also.

I've tried, with minimal success to organize it all.

I usually organize whatever I plan on putting on the iPhone at any given moment.

I do feel I should keep working on it, just have so much completely unlabeled music that makes it somewhat daunting.

Since I'm on my iPod, I can't put any pictures up but I must say that I take great pride on my very near and tidy iTunes.

Correct names, all album pictures, correct artists... And so on. It's perfect.
