I was thinking about getting a time capsule.. They are the same as an airport extreme, but with all the extra storage, so you can back-up wirelessly and stuff, right?

I have an airport extreme, works great with my husband and I's macs, had to do some tweaking to get it to work correctly with the kids pc's though (that was a pain, but hey, after a day, we got it working). We considered time capsule, but since we all have external backups, we decided to hold off on that and just keep the extreme for now.

Next is a Mac laptop for the wife, so I figure keep it all (well, except for my PC) Apple. Hmmm I might just get her a iTouch first tho....

Hi there,
Couldn't resist but brag about it, have 3 x iMACs, 3 x Mac books, USB backup hard drive and 4 x Axis wireless cameras all 'hooked up" on extreme. Everything is working fine but I have to admit that extensive usage of wireless cameras across the iMACs chokes the network up.
Called up Axis and they said that I would need something expensive like Cisco wireless router to solve that problem.
Bye
Zack

Great plan, but with an ethernet-adapter you would cut off the connection of the place you visit, and they may probably not like that. So even better would be a kinda usb-stick wich would extend the host's internet via wifi!!
Dunno if its possible; you got them sticks for bleutooth , but for i know, bt doesn't have to hassle with ip-addresses..
Also just a thought;-)

If your using it for your house its kinda useless i bought a 70$ router and works just fine all over the house and even sometimes across the street . But it is great I read about it alot and have fun with it !

Well my house is just under 2000sq.ft. (not including my basement) and everywhere in my house I have max bars
LOL I have to be about a half a block away before the signal will break up.. I run my phone, the wife's iTouch, and our appleTV on it with no problems... So I would agree with Aiyo - It ROCKS!!
