Site Maintenance etc
Our server admin Greg (known here as darklordexp) has been busy working behind the scenes adding a second server to support the ever-increasing popularity of the ModMy family of sites.
The box should be online in a week or less, and will make the sites even quicker and smoother. Just a heads up. If you notice any slowing, we're on it.
UPDATE 1/15: We are now on two boxes, but have not done any optimization or tweaking of the setup yet. Greg worked near 18-20 hours straight on integrating and getting stuff online, and we're live now. Speed improvements etc will be more apparent as the optimization is done.

Sure did. Then Greg's house burned down, and he's still working on getting all his stuff back together and making sure the first of the new boxes is tweaked accordingly.

Good news to hear Greg is recovering, i still hope everything is going alright for him now. At least no one was hurt.

Yeah, last week you were having PHP memory issues as well. But nice to see everything is working out, and it's always better to have your own server than someone else's

Just to clarify, we are not moving to a new server, we already did that in mid-Dec. The reason we haven't been as snappy since then is that due to Greg's circumstances (mentioned earlier), that server didn't get properly configured until just last week.
We are adding a SECOND server in 3-5 days (configuring now) to help handle the traffic the ModMy sites get. So we will have two servers running instead of just one. This will alleviate a lot of the stresses on the system, which means a snappier site for ya'll.
We're committed to offering the best possible site and service to you guys.

I am addicted to this site, and the slow down has really been taking a toll on me.

Glad to hear that Greg is getting back on his feet, and I love the dedication to the site. Makes me want to visit more than I do now. That could be detrimental to my relationships though.
