A program for people on a Mac and in school.

Oh man this is some mean stuff! I love it. There's no limit to how much this program can do!
Wolfram Mathematica: Home Page
If you're doing anything technical, think Mathematica--not just for computation but for modeling, simulation, visualization, development, documentation, and deployment.
Why Mathematica? Because this one integrated software system delivers unprecedented workflow, coherence, reliability, and innovation. Rather than requiring different toolkits for different jobs, Mathematica has been built from its inception to deliver one vision: the ultimate technical computing environment.
Mathematica provides you with the world's largest collection of algorithms in a single system--each able to operate across the widest applicable scope of numeric, symbolic, or graphical input.

Ps- it's a wee bit on the pricey side

Windows users can use this too, but it'll cost ya $3,000.00
Mac users ..... not so much.

YaRlY!

It's some great stuff. Type in anything and it gives you an answer. It'll do graphics rendering, create 3d objects you can grab and rotate while it changes the values as you rotate it and graphs out the answers. It's like having god knowledge of everything mathematical at your fingertips.
You can add sound by writing the proper numerical's in math form and it'll produce the sound. The notebook feature allows you to write down whatever .... say an explanation to the problem, then graph it on the same page (fully interactive), add sliders, sound, etc.. Then produce a variable option where you can change aspects of the equation.
If I were still in school I'd be pulling 4.0 gpa's with this for sure. Too bad school was 15 yrs ago
