OS X on my PC!
I finally got OS X working on my PC. Let's just say that I won't be using XP for a while.

PC users, install Leopard. DO IT!

Last time I tried this I had to reformat my HD and start all over. Can you PM me with some basic instructions? I read all the stuff on oxs86project and followed a guide, but I guess the build of OSX I used wasn't compatible... GRR!

I used leo4allv3 and that worked fine for me. Installed on an old compac but would not install drivers for onboard network but put in an older card and good to go.

So you just make an iso of that... boot to it and let it do it's thing? Does it install a dual boot client automatically?

Poseidon79, it has a dual boot client, but it's a pain to set up. really.

OK... installing.... we'll see how it goes this time.
First Boot attempt: Stuck on "Still waiting for root device". What do I do?
From what I've read I've read it has to do with my SATA HD... but can't find an easy solution.Last edited by Poseidon79; 07-03-2008 at 01:36 PM.

You can't use an Apple version... you need a patched version for PC. Go onto OSx86 Project | InsanelyMac for more info.

you need to partion you HD and then load the image file to a disk and put it in. YOu can also use VMWare/Daemon Tools to mount and run it within the Vista Shell

Changed my SATA settings in the BIOS to get it to get past the error and now it's just stuck again on "AppleRTL8169Ethernet: Ethernet addess 00:50:8d:5b:2d:a6"
OK I give up... back to single boot XP.

i am going to build the most ultimate hackintosh (when ive got the money)
ive read that for about 500£ you can build a mac pro spec pc, in a mac pro case (ebay) and install osx86, noone will ever know.....
jus some advice for anyone tempted by this, check the hardware compatibility list INTENSELY before you try this, it will save hours of wasted time....

After doing some more reading... always helps :-) I discovered the exact version and patches I needed to make it work for my specific motherboard... so my download will be done in 2 hours and I'll attempt again.
