I bought one(charger) from ebay for 3$, u can connect it to every usb port. In car, when the bat is down, i use my FM transmiter that has a usb port to recharge it.

Just so you guys know, any aftermarket, etc. charger for you iphone (other then the wall charger that came in the box) will soon or later defect your iphone's hardware.
I've been reading on few threads/forums and apparently its becoming a problem....more specifically my iphone's batter melted/overheated while using a CAR CHARGER that i bought off here, and I had to go to apple and explain to them that my iphone wont' even turn on and everytime i charged it, it becomes so hot that it could actually "burn you" (not taken literally).
By the way i had a friend to get it exchanged as i live in Canada and the representative told him that this has become a common problem.
The weird thing was that when i first got my charger, it worked several times but then one day after plugging it in for not even 2 seconds, my iphone automatically shut down.
So my advice is that even though you may have found other chargers that will charge your iphone, I wouldn't recommend using it anymore as it will soon or later defect it. -just be on the save side!!
Also forgot to mention that someone also mentioned that they had the problem while using an OLDER IPOD cradle chargerLast edited by Top-Fuel; 12-08-2007 at 12:57 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I bought my car charger from an apple store. If it melts the battery, sucks to be them, because they'll be giving me a new one.

If you read on some of the chargers that apple themselves sell on their website...read the comments there are still people with problems with car chargers.
I was fortunate enough to get my iphone replaced as well but then again, if i knew about this I wouldn't have used my car charger even if it was from apple, due to the fact that i don't want to go through this hassle again. Especially for us who have their iphones unlocked. The only reason why they didn't find out my iphone was unlocked was because the representative at the store apparently wasn't able to turn it on to tell.
For some people the charger might not just destroy their batteries etc. at first it ruined my speakers, had this crackling sound every time i put it on sleep mode and then i had no speakers at all. So for those who want to take their unlocked iphones to the apple store for a replacement due to speaker problems, you obviously won't get a replacement.
So i'm just giving advice, so hopefully no one has to go through this procedure.

It's not that difficult considering there's only one way this can work...
iPod>USB>PS3>WallRespect your elders.

Well i didnt realize members here didnt have a since of humor.. I start the thread saying that I use my PS3 as a charger because at the time that's all it was good for. No need to over think it just simply a joke.
