Stolen Phone NEED HELP ASAP
Well... I just got my iphone stolen
Is there a way I can lock it so the other person will have no use for it? I already called ATT and locked the SIM. Any advice will be helpful. Thanx!

Thats all you can do...
Assuming you gave them your iPhone's IMEi.Last edited by Kyle Matthews; 11-28-2007 at 12:36 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I have the iphone serial number. Is there a way I can go to Apple and have them permanently lock it or some thing?

Not to sound rude, but if you get something like that stolen, you shouldn't own it.

you need to have AT&T not only lock the sim but they also need to lock the IMEi number that would render the phone inoperable.

AT&T does not do IMEI locking.

You can't lock an IMEI, you can only track it so if someone else tries to use it with your wireless company, they'll see its stolen.
You didn't have any naked pictures of yourself on there did you?
Seriously though that sucks man. When I had my Treo there was a program called Little Blue Pill, where you could send a SMS to the Treo with a code to wipe the contents and lock it. Something like that should be done for the iPhone.

in the philippines, theres an anti crime agency from the government that locks stollen phones as long as you have proof of purchase. grabed my friends nokiaN95 box and reported it stolen. i had to buy him a new phone after that.
check, usually its usually a government agency that can do those kind of things

Yep, not much you can do. HOWEVER, if you file a police report and then subsequently send that to AT&T, *IF* someone activates it with iTunes, AT&T will provide that information to the police. For that matter, even if they don't activate it, but the IMEI shows up on the network (and it will if they unlock it and put their SIM in), the police will still get the info.
It's a long shot, but worth a try.

Get the SIM locked, ASAP. I doubt they would run a GPS check though. Sorry! Best of luck to you!
Now that I think about it, I'm selling the extra iPhone I have and I could lower the price because I feel really badly for you right now... so if you're interested, send a message my way!Last edited by laloo40; 12-01-2007 at 09:14 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
