I need help very very fast
Im just your average computer user, I dont know that much.
But I was trying to watch a video on a site and it said I needed to DL some active X thing. And now my computer is messed up hella bad. Whenever I google something it only shows porn related, I get popups saying my computer is under a bad threat, and when I go through My Computer I get the same thing.
Norton couldnt find the viruses, and Im trying anything. I need help asap!

Direct download link for Ad-Aware 2007:

install it and run a scan.
Norton is rubbish, by the way

This was my standard setup for several years until a few months ago when I noticed all scans came up clean but I was convinced I ad something on my system. I ran Trend Micro housecall (online)a few times which found a few things like Memwatcher which slows even my son's gaming rig to a crawl. I tried free trials of Kaspersky, and Eset which both seem to do a great job (no longer hear my disk spinning while doing nothing). neither program seems to affect PC performance the way Norton and McAfee do. I have Avast on my laptop. That is pretty good too, better than AVG for a free package.Use a combo of AVG, Adware 2007, Spybot and Spyware Blaster. You cant go wrong lol

I been using Avast AV for a couple of years now with no problems but these days spyware, adware, etc. are a bigger pain. I use spybot for that stuff but I recently found a great app called malwarebytes that I used to clean out a friends pc. It's a great program. You can get it at
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
Download the free version.Hope that helps.

I completely agree with Aiyo about the whole destroying their name with Vista thing. Vista was the downfall of Microsoft. Vista represents an unfinished, swiss cheese OS that acts like an over protective mother that makes you ask permission to do anything.
XP is the better of the two evils, but Leopard is better
Please hit the thanks button if I helped you out
