will updating this way work???

Ok so i have a hacked 1.0.2 phone and want to update to 1.1.1 im wondering if the method i post below will work?
1.hacked iphone gets placed on to a dock and synced with computer
2. I reflash the baseband to original 1.0.2 and also reformat the phone back to 1.0.2 so i have a factory state phone.
3.deactivate the phone using any deactivate programs, only so i can see the dashboard nothing else (no apps installed and no sim free done)
4.Resync iphone back to computer
5.Update to 1.1.1
Will my phone then brick??
or will i still be able to get to the dash board ? if i can!!! i can then run the anysim 1.1.1 and boom im running 1.1.1 but if not ? will i have a bricked phone??
can anyone say that this method works??
