Default quick question about .zip files

You have a file you need to download, it's .zip.

Once its done downloading, it automatically unzips into a folder.

Would someone tell me how to rename a .zip file, I guess before it's unzipped? Or if it can be done afterwards, thats fine as well.

    I'm on Mac

do you mean on your computer. just click on the file name and you can put any name in you want. or you can use the get info (command-I) to change the name that way.

On my Mac, when I download a file thats zipped, it automatically unzips it. It turns the zipped file...into an unzipped folder on my desktop.

At that point, I can't simply rename it to a .ispw file. It renames the folder, but doesnt convert it...make sense?

on "Safari" preference, at general tab you can find "open safe file after downloading" remove that and they will not be unzipped after downloading. thats all.

Or, you can go to the file/folder where ever it is, lets say downloads.

Rename the file, then Control+Click on the file/folder, choose "Compress [file name]"

Then, it will make a new zipped file/folder in that same directory.

This process can be done with any file or folder... not just ones that were download as a zip.
