iphone 3G 16GB black

I have a question. Why are these iphones selling for more than what at&t is selling them for? I think a new iphone 3G 16GB sells for $399 at at&t. Why would anyone pay $550 on up for a used one? I own a iphone 3G 16GB Black and its jailbroken. I am thinking on selling to get the new Bold. My iphone is about 2 months old with all boxes, cleaning cloth everything that one would get new in store. Even the plastic shipping film that goes over the iphone in box. Its mint! I may put it up for sale on here once I figure how to attach pics on here!

The $399 is the price from AT&T with a 2 year contract.
If you don't want a contract or are not due for an upgrade, you have to pay full price.

600 is ridiculous so is 500$. If you look you can easily find an iPhone 3G for 400$ in good shape. People hold there 3Gs to, too much f a high value.
