QuickOffice Pro alternative
While we wait for AttachmentSaver to be updated for iOS5, it occured to me that QuickOffice App implemented a work around for this problem long before the "Open In" feature appeared in iOS.
Start QuickOffice and click on edit and then on Email Attachments. Next enter your valid email address used on your iPhone and hit save. You should then get a verification email from them, once verified, you are ready to go. From the mail app, forward the email with attachments to
[email protected]
Then from QuickOffice, go into your email attachments and click on the download button and select the file you want. Once downloaded, use the move button to save it to your iPhone or DropBox. The Attachment storage they give you is 50Meg, but should be enough for most iPhone use.
UPDATE
As of 14th May 2012, QuickOffice are stopping this service.Last edited by DC_Dave; 05-12-2012 at 03:05 AM.
