01-29-2009, 07:46 PM #1Will ATT charge me if I switch from iPhone to a Motorola Razr?
I just bought a 3G iphone this month and don't like it that much, plus the $30 data plan is kind of expensive. So I might take the sim card and put it back to my Motorola Razr. I will sell the iPhone to my friend.
Does anyone know if I can remove the $30 data plan now that I am not using the iPhone? Also, is there any penalty for removing this $30 data plan so early?
Thank you very much....................

When you got the iphone, you signed a contract with ATT for 2 years that includes the data plan for the iphone.
If you don't want the iphone anymore, you can either return it to ATT if it's within one month of purchase, or pay the early termination fee which is $175.
BTW, you are the first one that I hear who likes a RAZR more than an iPhone

This should help.
I work for At&t Wireless and I know for a fact that they will not charge you for changing back to your RAZR. Just go to the store or call Customer Service and get them to change the Equipment on your account back to the RAZR and take off the iphone data package. Hope this helps.

You don't even need to do that. Contrary to what the reps in the stores will tell you, you do not have to have a data package for the iPhone. The data really completes the iPhone experience, but if you just want the iphone for phone + iPod, then the data might not be necessary for you. Just call 611 and tell them to remove the data package, and tell them to block internet all together. And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream!

^^ What do you mean? Will you be eligible to upgrade when the 3rd Gen iPhone comes out? No one knows. But I'm sure that they'll allow it, seeing as they want to lock you (us) in for as long as possible. And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream!
