Default Came across an Apple TV 2
and it works, but I don't have a remote. I've exhausted Google and YouTube with no luck.

Can I use this damn thing without buying a remote? I have a PC with iTunes, normal remotes and an iPhone 6 Plus / iPad Air 2

    Thanks so much

The problem is that the iPhone and iPad doesn't have IR sensors. You could download the AppleTV remote app from the App Store and then buy the IR blaster off Amazon; but, I don't know how well that works.

Yes, Apple TV 2 nor does an iPhone/iPad definitely does not have an IR sensor. Most Samsung's however do.
