Hi, i'm driving crazy about this... i bought ATV2 month ago, check on the version - 4.4.4 on 5.01, i'm trying jailbreak it with seasonpass on a macbookpro with lion

    Hi,
    i'm driving crazy about this...
    i bought ATV2 month ago, check on the version - 4.4.4 on 5.01,
    i'm trying jailbreak it with seasonpass on a macbookpro with lion osx,
    upgraded the latest version of iTunes and always get this massage:


    "The Apple TV. "APPLE TV" Could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the requested build.

    please HELP!!!

    You need SHSH to restore to any firmware that is not the current firmware available.

    why is that?
    i've got 4.4.4 and the latest firmware is 5....and i know there is jailbreak to 4.4.4
    so, i need to downgrade it?

    Because that is the way things work with Apple's devices. I dont use seasonpass but I am guessing it makes a custom jailbroken firmware to restore to. So in order to restore to it if it is a 4.X firmware you need the SHSH.

    Well the first step is actually saving them. You may find you cannot save them anymore if you are trying to save them for a firmware that apple is no longer signing.
