I just got the atv 2g and set it up...everything is good but I have the same issues consistently occurring:
1) my atv seems to lose wireless connection. This also happens with my MacBook pro (mid 2009)...I'm on a new Belkin n+ wireless router. It shows it's connected, but if you run netflix for example, a network error shows up. Re-entering the password fixes this, but why does this happen? This does not happen when watching something, only if you pause for a few minutes...
2) my brief experiment shows that the above issue is causing homeshare not to work...am I missing something else? I did get homeshare on my MB and atv to work once...

I also have the belkin N+, and was having the same sort of problems. I switched to wep security instead of wpa, and that seemed to solve the problem. Just be aware that wep is not very secure at all. I wasn't too concerned though. Using the mode ware it will only talk to specific MAC addresses might work too.
