iMac 27" screen quality vs Full HD TV via HDMI from a hi-spec Notebook
Which one is better for watching movies and photos?
On the LCD TV, let's say that I'm using
-Sony Vaio F with i7, 1GB video card NVIDIA, Full HD, HDMI + Full HD LCD TV
Of Course the Vaio has higher spec than the iMac 27", but it's primarily for watching movies and photos.
And the iMac has a higher resolution of 1440 vs 1080
Which one do you think is better?
Can the iMac be my HD TV?
Quality wise, which one is better?
or maybe should I change my question to .... which TV is equal to iMac 27" display?
What should I consider? Contrast ratio? Frame rate?
Thanks guys

There are plenty of people that use the iMac 27in display as TVs and monitors for playstation or xbox.

I've been wanting to ask that very question but ended up forgetting to each time. I would also add as to whether or not we can expect to get a high pixel density screen like the one on the iPhone 4. Yes, yes, I know, the consideration given is that you're holding it 12" from your face, instead of sitting farther away from a monitor and even more so from an HDTV. However, the bottom line remains that the iPad and iMac do not have nearly as much of a crystal clear, razor sharp screen at any distance compared to the iPhone 4's so-called "Retina" display (and yes, I know it's a marketing term)
At the very least, the next iteration of the iPad will probably get one of those displays.(2011) Mac mini Core i5-2520M 2.5GHz-3.2GHz (Turbo Boost) | 8GB DDR3 RAM | AMD Radeon HD 6630M | 27" LED Cinema Display | 6TB GRAID | 3TB Time Capsule 4th gen | iPhone 4 | iPad 2 | Apple TV 2nd gen. | Magic Trackpad | I surrender...
