xCon: Patch Apps With Jailbreak Protection!

Looks like we've been getting dirty looks.

Apparently, there are quite a few App Store developers who don't take too kindly to our jailbreaking ways and have decided to prevent their own apps from working correctly on iDevices freed from jail. Worse yet, each app typically uses its own way to detect a jailbroken device (there are a few differences in how they respond to certain functions). Luckily for us, these same app developers like using very descriptive method names, making them relatively easy to patch.

Introducing

xCon

xCon is a project I'm starting to make an all-in-one jailbreak-blocking patcher tweak. It already supports 5 apps, and I'm working on more all the time. What I need you to do is post names of apps that you know have anti-jailbreak measures built-into them so that I can go ahead and get them patched up!

When installing the Chase mobile banking app, it told me it couldn't send alerts to jailbroken devices. I never have money in my account so don't know If this is true or not.

I'm thinking about starting an all-in-one patch project to fix up these apps, but I need you to help me start a list of apps that employ this protection. There is no guarantee that any given app can be easily patched, but I will try to look into every submission and see what I can do. Typically, if an app can't be patched within 10 minutes, it will require a hefty deal of trial-and-error.

The DirecTV iPad one is already in Cydia, but if I get this project moving, it will probably be removed and replaced with a better package.

Of course, there's Skype as well.

Which, I believe, is fixable with MobileSubstrate....

However, it still gives that damn error message about being jailbroken. Still logs in afterwards though. I was having issues with it on 4.2.10 not logging in, nor any other apps that would run Skype chat.

iOS 5 seems to work fine though.

Skype works fine on jailbroken devices. They just have a nag message saying they won't support jailbroken devices, which is easily dismissible. Definitely would be an easy fix to bypass, but I am not sure if it would be worth the effort since it doesn't prevent any functionality.

I can't wait for the DirecTV Nomad app to be patched. I have to go back into the hospital for Chemo next week and would love to be able to take some of my DVR'd stuff with me.

Awesome!! Any news regarding that app??? It needs to be cracked ASAP! We pay alot of money to get that service with lovefilm and now they demand not to jailbreak??.?..

If your talking about LoveFilm, it's because nothing has been implemented yet.
