Question about navigation apps

Hello there, I want to buy a navigation app for my iPhone (probably tomtom). I just wanted to know if navigation apps need Internet connection to work. I will be driving from the uk to Germany but obviously I'm going to have to switch off my 3G/data on the phone not to get a massive phone bill whilst I'm out there.

No, tom tom doesnt require internet, it has all the maps preloaded in the app.

Thanks, so it will work with an iPod touch as well? Gps/GPRS wouldn't be an issue?

You might need the tom tom assistant mount for a iPod Touch. Not too sure with them.

It will not support,
You have to unlock it to use it universally..
