Hi, my wife had an iphone 2 8GB on the O2 network. When she upgraded I inherited the old model. I unlocked it so I could keep my long standing Orange number and have been using it happily for a year or more. However, today I foolishly agreed to update the iphone software in itunes. Now I get the message that itunes is unable to recognise the phone and can't activate it for service. Restore doesn't make any difference. I have a backup but itunes won't allow me to acces it. The phone only allows emergency calls now and displays a symbol of a USB cable and itunes logo. Anybody know how to restore to the old backup with out itunes, or any other solution? Cheers, Andy
