TomTom or Garmin?
I've been looking at the TomTom or Garmin StreetPilot navigation apps. Has anyone tried both or have thoughts on either of the two? Is there any extra chargers after you purchase the app itself?
thanks

TomTom or Garmin?
I've heard that the TomTom is more accurate, but I prefer the Garmin extremely way more over the TomTom due to the organization and simpleness. If you are willing to through more work to get to a new location, TomTom is the GPS for you.

Right now I would run with Tom Tom. The Garmin app is very new and needs a couple of updates. This is what I am waiting for. As far as a stand alone GPS...Garmin all the way, but not the AppStore app.
I am using MotionX right now until Garmin pushes another update. MotionX works very very well.Last edited by CaptainChaos; 02-09-2011 at 05:55 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Garmin is horrible, it downloads maps on the fly, so if you are ever out of range of good data speeds. you will be SOL. tomtom or navigon

Navigon. I didn't like my friend's TomTom. It got "confused" twice in one 40 minute trip and rerouted me both times when I was going on the freeway and did not change direction...I liked TomTom until that happened. It does it frequently to me. Maybe it hates me :/
I do enjoy Navigon's interface better though.

MotionX can download your maps before your trip so there is no need for an internet connection.

Edit: forgot about Garmin. The reviews don't look so good on it.

TomTom is pretty decent! I haven't had any trouble with it.
