Anybody know where the .ipa file is stored on my iphone? Just bought modern combat 2 but itunes wont recognize my device so i want to ssh and drag it off before i restore.
I am sure. When you go to purchase it again it will pop up with a message saying you have already purchased it and ask if you want to download it again for free. It is only music and movies that itunes charges again if you try to redownload.
Really? I was charged again. They told me it's for security reasons, otherwise I could just enter my account info on other peoples iPhones and give them my apps for free. That's why they only made it work through iTunes, because each iPhone syncs with only 1 computer.
As long as the phone is linked to your account itunes will not charge you again. You could enter your account info on other peoples phones and do it for free. But it would mean that they are linked to your account.
I don't understand. If my take my friends iPhone, go to settings, store, sign out, then sign into my account, download all my paid apps, then sign back out, it will work? I have tried that and it doesn't work..it asks u to pay again
No that will not work because you are signing back out after. You would have to permanently link it to your account, so it would not be linked to his account anymore.
What you are talking about is different than what the OP is. He is restoring his own phone on his own account. He will not have any issues downloading apps that he has purchased already on his iphone or in his itunes as both will be linked to his account.
So ur saying that only works if u restore from backup, if I set up as new phone it will not work correct? Because that would be the same as what I'm saying
It will still work if you setup as new. As soon as you sync to itunes and put in your account and password you will be linked to your account again, so you can download any apps that you purchased on that account for free. You are having trouble with your brothers one because his is probably linked to his account already.
Oh okay, so it only links to the account that u put in right after a restore? And the only way to link it to another account is to restore again? That makes sense..
You dont necessarily have to restore again. But you do have to unlink it from the current account, which could erase any apps that are already on there.
