Emoji, is it free to send SMS ??

I have just downloaded Emoji for the emotions to add to SMS etc, does it cost me extra to send these in a SMS or does it
Change to a MMS when these emotions are added to the SMS

I am just wondering incase I end up with a massive phone bill because it's sending as mms and not sms

Please help...

Actually, one Emoji-icon uses approx. 70 characters, so if you're writing an SMS that's 160 characters and then adding an icon it will end up at 230 characters. So be careful if you don't have alot/free SMS'.
