Would iTunes upgrade Hurt me?

TO start I have a 3GS one 3.1.2 jailbroken via blackra1n w/ iTunes 8.

My problem is there is an app in the appstore i am trying to get, but it requires itunes 9. Would it be safe to upgrade to the newest itunes but stay jailbroken on 3.1.2?

I have my phone setup just the way i want, and dont feel like dealing with the hassel of updating firmware & jailbreaking again.

It should. I didn't have any problem. I think it's just 3gs with 3.1.3 jailbroken with spirit that had problems with iTunes 9.

I think that as long as jailbreakme.com is up and running, it'll no longer matter which version of iTunes you use, so long as you stay to firmware versions of 4.0.1 or below.

If you wanna stay on 3.1.2, you can upgrade iTunes no problem. Like someone else said, as long as it wasnt jailbroken with Spirit. And as long as you dont hit that upgrade button in iTunes and accidentally upgrade your phone, youre fine
