long distance calling

hi i currently live in canada and will travel to usa next week. i dont want to have roaming charges. is there a app i can use to avoid roaming charges and get cheap rates into usa.

so how does it work.? how do you answer calls when you are in usa? does it automatically detect and not use the usa network

Good to appstored loock for the app and loock at the info i us icall when i go out of USA i connect my iPhone to a wifi and make free calls and they can call me on my # that's the free version

What happens if you are not on a wifi? can you use 3g network instead?

Yes you can use it on 3g network to. And if you don't have signal you can use the app to make call to.
