Itunes Update with Jailbreak

Is it safe to update your itunes when you have your iphone jailbroken with Spirit.

I've had phone Jailbroken for a few months now, and I keep getting the new software for itunes. Is it safe to do without affecting iphone

If you're already jailbroken then yes... if not then no. If you have an old bootrom device or a iphone 3G then it doesn't matter b/c you don't need to use spirit.
