iPhone text message problem

Hey guys. I'm new to the forum. I am having a minor problem with my iPhone text messaging. If someone sends me a text with more than 140 characters I don't get the whole message. With my old phone I would receive a 2nd text message with the rest of the text, but this doesn't happen with my iPhone. Is there something I can do to fix this?

That should only happen if the person that is sending you the message has verizon. Verizon limits their customers to 160(?) characters per text to non VZW customers

1. Which text messaging app are you using?
2. Are you Jail Broken?
3. Which Firmware do you have?
