Default Which one is better Textnow or Textfree?
I was wondering if some of you can give me a little insight as to which one of these apps (Textnow / Textfree) is the best. I checked the app store reviews and Textnow has 3 1/2 stars while Textfree has 4 stars.

Whats the pros and cons of these apps?

    Thanks

I use TextNow. I didn't like TextFree. They're both pretty much the same though.
Until the next time… And if I help you out, give me a "Thanks!" Thanks!

TextNow basically creates an email to SMS and sends it to the phone number. It is sent from a "[email protected]" email account that when you reply to, goes to TextNow. Any cell number has an address that email can be sent to, converting it to an SMS. TextFree does the same.
Until the next time… And if I help you out, give me a "Thanks!" Thanks!

Personally, I'd just use the AIM-to-SMS feature of most (if not all) AIM clients. Most of my friends have unlimited texting while I only have 200 texts but unlimited data, so I use AIM to bridge the gap between the two. Only really needed if you're going to have an extended conversation over text though.

Does anyone know of an Australian version? I would LOVE free text messages to my girlfriend and my mates.

    Cheers

Textfree was good except if for some reason you delete your app off your springboard and then redownload and sign in IT WILL NOT let you sign back in as it will say your info is taken already so you have to basically start a new username.
