as the title says.
Decided to shell out the £80 for Tom Tom for the Iphone. However the stupid thing requires a mobile connection Complete rubbish if your not in a 3G area
Anyone know if there is a way to use the tom tom GPs device I have with this app.
I know that you can buy the car cradle but this is another £100

I am confused. TomTom uses GPS, not 3G (AFAIK). The app itself installs all the maps, so you have no need for a network connection.
Please clarify if I have it wrong.kwickone I.T.H.

I too have purchased the Tom Tom app for my 3GS and do not get a signal. Also when i open Google maps i get the blue dot showing my location but it does not pulsate. Is there something wrong with my phone settings? Can someone please advise?

Re:-Tom Tom - iphone and GPs
Mike, I found myself in your situation a few months ago having bought the 3gs and decided to purchase the TomTom app, my advice to you would be to buy the TomTom car cradle you won't be disappointed, the cradle has a built in GPS chip that enhances the iphone 3gs navigation capabilitiy, it also gives you hands free capability within your vehicle. I have also recently upgraded my TomTom app to version 1.2 they have made some great improvements to the app. hope this helps.
