help; Installing facebook app without appstore

Okay so I'm in a country right now where they don't have the iTunes app store; god knows why but I think it has to do with copyright issues and they don't have a deal with apple.

But thats besides the point. I'm trying to install the new facebook app onto my iPhone 3g (jailbroken and unlocked on 3.0.1). So I grabbed the app from ********** (which does work here) and stupidly, tried installing it without first deleting the old facebook app that I downloaded from the appstore when I was in the US. Now when I go to open the new facebook app, the old one looks to load for a bout .5 seconds and then closes. No matter how many times I delete it and reboot, it refuses to work.

So then I SSH'd into the phone and deleted all the facebook app folders I could find... the ones in the application folder, and the ones in the user/applications folder. I rebooted, reinstalled, and tried again, and still no dice.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get it to work!? Please and thank you .

Whoa! That sucks I have no idea what is wrong, but can you get to the app store on wifi? It might work.

the app store is completely blocked on the entire island lol. I have never heard of anything like it.. but I swear it's true.

That really sucks! An iphone without apps!! Probably a problem with the uploaded app, not your phone. Try a different download page.
