    Default Sygic Europe....
    Hey,

I have a (legit) copy of Sygic Europe (Mobile Maps 2009) but when i fire it up it does not find my location.

Some who is standing next to me gets coverage straight away. I have looked about for any settings that are different but they are all the same.

Has anyone come accross this error?

I have a iPhone 3G 16GB on 3.0 firmware. Maps finds me no problem, its just the Sygic Europe does not.

    Any suggestions would be welcomed.

    M

Is your friend on 3.0 also? If he isn't then that could be the problem. Maybe the app wasn't updated to be compatible with 3.0 firmware yet.

    Thanks for your reply.

He has the exact same setup as I do. firmware and all.

If Maps is able to find you easily enough then we know it isn't a hardware issue. I checked to see if it was updated to work with 3.0 and according to iTunes it was. (Holy sh*t you paid $100 for this app?). Are you jailbroken?

I paid 59.99 and no I'm not jailbroken, do you think that would help?

No, I'm just trying to find out what the issue could be caused by.

Huh? Ive seen before where location services and/or "restrictions" - for location services.....can keep independent apps from using the GPS receiver.....so ha.

There's an FAQ addressing this issue on Sygic's support site here. Does this help?
