Over Bluetooth you can play Bomberman 2 together and Flight Control, but those are the only two I know of...

It costs $4.99, but the Uno app is really cool. You can pay with friends or strangers over wifi. If you and your nephew play chess, "Chess with Friends" is a cool free app that you can play together

F.A.S.T. is an awesome mutiplayer combat flight game you can play over bluetooth or WiFi. I also like Galcon, and Zod's port of Quake 1 if you're jailbroken.

iShoot. A tank game where you can create your own weapons and customize rules and battle each other. But it is local WiFi.
