Default Mobile AIM question (quick and easy)
I installed AIM on my 3GS. I noticed that it does not show a "mobile phone" icon next to my name on my friends buddy list. He shows up with a phone icon when he is on his BlackBerry's AIM client.

Does the iphone client simply just mimic the desktop app, and not indicate its a mobile device?

I am trying to figure out why I dont show up as being on a mobile device.

I do have the AIM desktop privacy settings to show "as being on a mobile device" when on a mobile device.

Maybe the iphone app just doesnt show its a mobile device?

your phone shows up as online like a desktop because of the "Push" service apple is giving you. Signing off on your phone will eliminate that problem and you will be signed on via mobile when you do so.
