Voice Memos vs Griffin's iTalk

Hi, i wanted to ask you guys wich was better to record voice memos, in my case i've been using Griffin's iTalk to record my teacher's classes so there's a lot of background noice. I have it on the best quality mode and has worked like a charm, but i wanted to know if the one that apple installed on 3.0 was better.
I ask you guys first because if it happens to be worse i'll be losing the whole class.

Why not simply bring both to class with you and set up both, then tell US which one is better?
