It's not a blooper, apple is just taking a long time getting through all the app submission. Imagine how many people want in now that push is available? Also, push could only be tested by certain developers (outside of the company) so that might also be holding some of them back. Even though aim was one of the beta tester...

Right from the support documentation "You need to open an application at least once to get any notifications from that app."

Not quite sure if the programs that have push need to be opened every time a restart of the phone is done. As usual Apple is very vague when it comes to how things work.

Updated the list. Thanks for the contributions.
With some of the questions about apps, Apple doesn't host the push. You need your own servers to handle the Push registration and such so it does take some work to have your app support push.

on beejive's twitter they are claiming 3.0 is in the app store, but im not getting the option to update yet.
