Yes, but CoPilot will be out about the same time - and I know which I prefer

magnetometer!
TomTom would be great if they charged a minimal fee for it (perhaps a $30 one time fee or a $1.99 per month kind of thing haha). I don't want to have to pay tens of dollars for it every month. I'm actually really happy with the map on my iphone - the only thing it's missing is the magnetometer so I can stop rotating my phone trying to follow the blue dot.

Do you think that they will charge monthly for it?

I seriously doubt it would be a monthly fee......but probably quite a 1 time charge.

I wonder how much it's gonna be. Even being a pirate. I am will to pay for apps I would use all the time. But if they get silly with the price well I'll get silly with a k'ed copy.

I wonder if they are going to charge for updates like the regular units do for map updates like cpjr mentioned.

On other Smartphones they charge a fairly hefty fee to buy it - most of that is the cost of the actual Maps. You can buy the software for WinMo or Symbian or stand alone but a memory card with just the maps of USA & Canada costs about £58 - that's about $95
