Want To Avoid Swine Flu? There's An App For That Too
All this news and such about the Swine Flu this is a big concern for many and scary as well.... coming soon an app will be released to help you keep track of it...
Yesterday, we talked a bit about how some companies are clearly trying to capitalize on the Swine Flu craze that is sweeping the nation. Naturally, someone just had to make an iPhone app.
And the winner is IntuApps, which has Swine Flu Tracker, waiting for approval from Apple before it's released into the App Store. IntuApps' Barry Schwartz, who is also a blogger, sent along some screenshots of the app. In it, you can see the current Threat Level for the disease, a map showing confirmed and suspected cases, a symptoms area to inform people, and an alert page for breaking news on Swine Flu.
Everyone is joking about Swine Flu because of the whole pig angle, but it is at least somewhat of a serious threat. And while this iPhone app may be the latest thing to capitalize on it, it's also pretty useful as a way to know what areas to avoid on the go. It's good to know that IntuApps will be giving the app away for free when it is available in the App Store.

2 more cases reported here today.
I'm not freaking out, I prefer to look at the bright side, kinda glass half full thingy.
My twisted mind came up with another name for this app.
How about "Hamthraz"
Sometimes I just crack myself up.

Wow, that is amusing but also frustrating. This swine flu panic is ridiculous. Around 15000 people die from the REGULAR BORING OLD FLU every year in North America. These people are generally the very old, young and weak. Healthy individuals don't usually die from the flu. The only difference between swine flu and regular influenza is that it has mutated; and is able to transfer from birds, swine, and of course humans. There is also an added mild respritory condition. Other than that it is the same. Yes there have been lots of cases but a case of swine flu doesn't mean a person died, almost everyone recovers. All the deaths that have taken place have happened in Mexico and I am not trying to be racist but Mexico isn't the nicest place in the world, garbage litters the streets and lots of people are struck by poverty. Their healthcare is also not as sophisticated as ours. Think about this, how many people have died in a western country? Last time I checked there was one in the U.S. and he was a Mexican 1 and half year old with a weak immune system due to his young age. So please stop freaking out over this flu. There are a confirmed 56 cases in British Columbia where I live and I could care less. As far as the goverments and WHO overreacting as well like the level 5 danger rating (where did that come from?) I have no explanation maybe a conspiracy to help pharmaceutical companies profit?? Anyway this is far from an apocalyptic outbreak; so stay calm.
