Thread: Ultimate iPhone App for File Transfer/Viewing/Storage/Management

Default Ultimate iPhone App for File Transfer/Viewing/Storage/Management
I've played around with quite a few file transfer apps such as Air Sharing, Breifcase, Readdledocs, ReachMyFile, FileMagnet, File Magic, Datacase, etc and I am having a difficult time figuring out which of these apps is the best option for file management on the iPhone??

I've search around quite a bit for a "definitive" comparison thread for iPhone file transfer apps, but I haven't really had any success...I'd love to start one here!!

Anyone care to weigh in on which App Store app you've chosen for file transfer/viewing/storage/management/etc on your iPhone?

I am curious about this as well. I have never used my iPhone in this manner, but would like to be able to without having to go through the pains of testing applications.

So far I like iStorage. File management, connection to mobileme disks and remote ftp servers (Most don't have this), ability to email files and a built in browser to surf the web and download files. Also has a very clean interface.

As of lately I've been using QuickOffice for my file management only because it allows me to manage files and edit Excel and Word documents. It also allows connections to remote mobileme disks but not to FTP servers. In conjunction with QuickOffice, I use File2Mail so I can email any file I want. The ability to email files is suppose to be included in QuickOffice but hasn't been implemented yet and there is a limitation on the file types allowed to be emailed.

When you say edit Excel files...how extensive is the editing? Is it the text only or can you actually create formulas etc?

I like Air Sharing because it's what I've been using forever now. Being able to mount it as a network drive is awesome.

I'm a helpful jerk, fear me.
